Volunteers help land a balloon
When do the balloons fly?

Balloon ascensions are planned for early morning and later afternoons, when the weather conditions are favorable for flight. Remember that all balloon activities are dependent upon favorable weather conditions. The go-ahead for Balloon ascensions will be the decision of the Balloon Meister and Flight Director and these decisions are normally made at the last minute. Balloon Glows are scheduled each evening as well, when the balloons return to the field after their ascensions. There is a possibility that these may be cancelled as well, if weather conditions are unfavorable.

What is a tethered balloon ride?

A tethered balloon ride is a ride in the basket of a balloon at a low altitude, usually less than 40 feet off the ground. The balloon remains tethered to the ground by weights and people holding onto strong ropes and cables.

May I bring in my cooler or picnic basket?

No outside food or beverages are permitted. Food vendors with offerings from ice cream and hot dogs, to gyros and seafood will be stocked to handle any of your food needs!

Will there be plenty of food and beverage vendors?

Yes, check out our Fly Me to the Food line-up for some great taste treats! There will also be a full service bar under the pavilion and beer and wine offerings on Bottoms Up Boulevard!

Is this event wheelchair accessible?

There is limited wheelchair access to the fields. Many of the events at this festival can be viewed from the paved areas surrounding the fields, as well as the covered pavilion.

Where may I access handicap parking?

There are a limited number of parking spaces at the event site for handicap parking. Once these are full, there are no additional available. However, if you are parking off-site on one of the satellite lots, some of the shuttles will be handicapped accessible.

May I park and walk in?

No walk-in attendees will be allowed. All attendees must either park at the grounds, or ride a shuttle to the event site from specified satellite parking lots. Please do not park in adjacent neighborhoods! Your car will be ticketed and may be towed.

Please note that spectators will be allowed on the fields only during the Balloon Glows.

We encourage you to bring your chairs. All balloon events are dependent on the weather.
Security measures will be in effect including bag checks. No animals (with exception of service animals), contraband, or outside food and drinks, including alcohol, will be permitted.
